Bard 0102SI12 Bardex I.C. Foley Catheter, 2-Way, Specialty, Tiemann Model, Balloon 5cc, 12FR
The Bardex I.C. Foley Catheter has an anti-infective coating. Description: 2-Way, Specialty, Tiemann Model, Red Latex, Medium Olive Coude Tip, Single Eye, Balloon 5cc, 12FR
A Foley catheter, also known as an indwelling urinary catheter, is a type of medical device used to drain urine from the bladder when a person is unable to do so on their own. Unlike intermittent catheters that are inserted and removed several times a day, Foley catheters are designed to remain in the bladder for an extended period.
The Bardex I.C. anti-infective latex Foley catheter is clinically proven to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections. Incorporating a technologically-advanced formulation consisting of Bactiguard* silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel, the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter dramatically reduces bacterial adherence and minimizes biofilm formation.
- Multiple Sizes: 12-30 Fr.
- Different Tip Configurations: Coude and straight.
The occurrence of urinary tract infection is 3.7 times greater in patients catheterized with a standard catheter than in patients catheterized with the Bardex I.C. Foley catheter with Bactiguard silver alloy coating and BD hydrogel.
The Foley catheter consists of a flexible tube with an inflatable balloon at one end and a drainage bag at the other. The catheter is inserted into the bladder through the urethra, and the balloon is inflated with sterile water to keep the catheter securely in place inside the bladder.
